BEAUTY In the midst uncertainty and fear. My daily post of one image of beauty to counter the currently overwhelming fear narrative.
THIS WATER ONCE AGAIN – I have a memory that warms my heart every time I recall it. When I was in my early 30s, I met my mother and grandparents in Mazatlan Mexico. They had a timeshare condo on the beach. My Grandfather was in his early 80s I believe. My mother told me that when my grandfather would walk into the ocean and bathe in the waters he’d known throughout his life, he would say “Thank you God for this one more time”. Recognizing that he was in the twilight of his life and possibly experiencing it for the last time, he offered his gratitude for the gift of the precious moment he was given, “just this one more time”. I was so moved by the blunt truth of it—all we have are the moments we are living, and they are unique and finite. His words have become a mantra for my life and I often find myself quietly whispering them or thinking them. And when I do, my experience of life becomes so much richer. If you would like, share with me what you are grateful for today.
