Sonorium 2
2019 – Oil on Panel, 30″ x 48″
BEAUTY In the midst uncertainty and fear. My daily post of one image of beauty to counter the currently overwhelming fear narrative.
SONORIUM 2 – I don’t know that SONORIUM is an actual word. I couldn’t find it in the dictionary, but I consider it’s meaning to be a space containing sound. In this painting, the resonant waves of sound are portrayed two-dimensionally. There is a musicality in this piece. I wonder what it would actually sound like if performed instrumentally. I imagine a lush atmosphere of intersecting waves of harmonious and dissonant sonic chords and melodies. There is also a celestial quality to the image. Again, returning to the underlying resonances we all live within. Nature repeating itself from the microcosmic to the macrocosmic.
